WHY YOU HAVE TO CALL ON GOD THE FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT IN YOUR PRAYERS
As Christians, the sole of our believe is the existence of three person's in one God , in the person of the father the son and the holy spirit in unity as one God. I don't think God the father has made a revelation of himself in any way but God the son has revealed himself in the person of Jesus Christ, and God the holy spirit in the form of a Dove (during the baptism of Jesus Christ) and in the form of a tongue of fire (during the descent of the holy spirit on the apostles), but God the father also revealed himself in the form of a strong wind (when Moses received the ten commandment), while Jesus revealed his father to be in the same form form with him but imaginary will be be much older than Jesus christian.The bible made us to know that god created us in his own image and likeness (Genesis 1:27, col. 3:10) and that's why catholic church use this images to represent/remember God.
Beginning your prayers with ''in the the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit'' remains the best because you have to recognize the existence/presence of the father the son and the holy spirit whom in unity as one God is the God you are praying to.Take for instance before the book of genesis(gen. 1:1-26), when God was creating the world we will see that the word ''and God said'' was used from day one till the fifth day, but when he wanted to create man on the sixth day God openly showed the presence of the son and the holy spirit in his act of creation by saying ''let us make man in our own image and likeness''. the word ''us'' and ''our'' there is a plural to show the presence of more than one person(person of the father, son, and holy spirit) in the creation work. and if you take a look at that word again ''let us make'' you will see that the three will make man and that the three have been making all the make-able right from the first day.
Also at the baptism of Jesus Christ (God the son) at river Jordan, during the salvation of man, the presence of God the father and the holy spirit was also recognized to show that the three working in unity as one God to save man.Hence the voice of the father was heard from heaven saying: ''thou at my beloved son to whom am well pleased, listen to him", and the holy spirit descended from heaven unto Jesus in the form of a dove(Luke 3:21-23, Matt 3:16-17).
When Jesus(God the son) have finished his earthly ministry which was the salvation of man as required by his father(God the father) to save mankind, He promised us the holy spirit(God the holy spirit) who will come after Him to complete the salvation work initiated by the father, and the holy spirit finally descended in the form of tongue of fire on the disciples on the Pentecost day.(acts 1:7-9, 2:1-4).
Jesus even commanded us to teach and baptize in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit.therefore calling on the three trinity before and after my prayers is te best as they also work in unity as one God to answer our prayers.
